TiQi Leadership
On the bleeding edge of leadership.
TiQi Leadership is a trauma-informed, quantum-informed leadership approach. It is also known as Higher Mind Leadership. It weaves a trauma-informed perspective together with a quantum-informed one across how we lead, work, and live, and it begins by uncovering the lucid energy at the core of what you are: your Quantum Self.
What it means to be trauma-informed
A trauma-informed leader recognizes trauma and its impact, and works hard to never cause more of it. Trauma is so widespread that it would be hard to find anyone without some, which makes a trauma-informed approach foundational to how we lead.
Roughly 70% of US adults have lived through a traumatic event, so this is the norm rather than the exception. Being trauma-informed means learning to recognize it, respond with care, and, above all, never re-create harm.
Recognize how widespread trauma is and how deeply it can shape mind, body, and behavior, often in ways that are not obvious.
Learn the signs and symptoms of trauma, and stay aware that it shows up differently in different people.
Build a safe, non-judgmental environment where people feel heard, and weave trauma-informed practice through the whole culture.
Put practices and policies in place that avoid re-creating harm, prioritizing safety, trust, collaboration, and choice.
Those super-glued threat encodings turn out not to be permanent. In the video below, rather than picturing these ion channels and receptors as antennas, we use the analogy of a little submarine on the lookout for similar data. Press play to watch the encoding recede back into the membrane.
The body has three main physiological states, and it is completely normal to move between them, and through some blended states, all day long. A regulated nervous system tends to shift between them smoothly, as a fitting response to whatever is happening. When a nervous system is carrying trauma physiology, those shifts can feel more abrupt or jarring, and may not seem to match the moment, to the person living it or to the people around them. That is the body doing its protective best with the settings it has, not anything broken.
What it means to show up in threat-based physiology
In addition to trauma, there is the everyday reality that most of the workforce shows up in a threat-based physiology. The nervous system mobilizes for fight or flight (YELLOW) or, when escape feels impossible, immobilizes into shutdown and collapse (RED). State precedes story: the body sets the state, and our thoughts follow. This is distinct from trauma; it is simply where most people are living.
Statistically speaking, this is your team: most of them are showing up in a threat-based physiology.
A collapse: numbing and disconnection. A last-resort survival state where energy, hope and engagement flatline.
Fight-or-flight humming in the background. The smarty-pants brain is dialed down, the body is braced, and creativity and connection shrink.
Rest, digest, connect. Organized thinking, creativity, compassion and curiosity come back online. Home base for a thriving team.
The work of leadership is to help a team move from chronic YELLOW (ever-stress mode) or RED (burnout mode) toward GREEN, the physiology of safety and connection, both as an in-the-moment shift and as a new home base. In GREEN, people show up with organized thinking and clear focus. They problem-solve, create, and innovate, take initiative and make sound decisions, collaborate and genuinely connect with one another, and meet friction with curiosity instead of defensiveness. The body comes back online too, immune and digestive systems included, and the social-engagement system makes warmth and trust the default. This is where a team does its best, most human work. The SEC Check™ and the Feather-O-Meter could help you and your team understand your body physiology and get to GREEN!
The Feather-O-Meter might sound silly, but take a look at this image. Congratulations: you now understand more about the body’s threat-and-safety responses than a lot of people with advanced degrees.
What it means to be quantum-informed
Modern physics and consciousness research keep pointing past a purely material picture of reality. Quantum-informed leadership centers the Quantum Self: the energetic, lucidly aware essence underneath the personality, the Lucid Conscious Awareness that is our foundational what-ness. It pays attention to states and frequencies, ours and our team's.
Modern physics keeps pointing past a purely material picture of reality. A growing body of consciousness research treats awareness as fundamental, and explores non-local consciousness: a mind that the brain tunes into rather than generates, the way a radio receives a signal it did not create. It could sound bizarre, and yet the controlled research into telepathy and past-life cases is hard to ignore. Quantum-informed leadership takes this seriously, and centers the Quantum Self, the energetic, lucidly aware essence underneath the personality, the Lucid Conscious Awareness that is our foundational what-ness.
In practice it means paying attention to states and frequencies, our own and our team's. We can shift our brain-wave states, from busy beta into calmer alpha and theta, settle into coherence, and lead from a clearer, more creative place.
Your who-ness, the matter-based, temporary form you take. Smart and ever-helpful, it narrows what you perceive to keep you tuned to the Earthling frequency.
Your what-ness, your true, formless essence. Undying, irreducible, ever shining at 100%. This is the energetic Self we lead from.
Everything is energy in motion. Leadership becomes the art of tending the frequency of a room, a team, a self, and tuning it back toward coherence.

A cognitive neuroscientist and consciousness researcher, and founder of TILT, The Institute for Love and Time. Her work focuses on consciousness, time, and unconditional love.
A physicist who consulted for NASA and spent decades studying consciousness. His model treats consciousness as fundamental, and names the field we are all part of the Larger Consciousness System.
Chief Scientist at the Institute of Noetic Sciences. For decades he has run controlled laboratory experiments on telepathy, precognition, and the effect of intention, with results that are hard to wave away.
A neurosurgeon and a sound-and-consciousness researcher, co-authors of Living in a Mindful Universe. After his own near-death experience, Dr. Alexander came to regard consciousness as the primary force underlying all of reality.
Yes, "the foundation of reality is love" can sound corny. Serious researchers keep arriving there anyway. For example, in Living in a Mindful Universe, neurosurgeon Dr. Eben Alexander and Karen Newell describe consciousness itself as the primary force underlying reality. As another example, people who have had near-death experiences, studied in prospective hospital research, consistently describe an overwhelming, unconditional love unlike anything they have known in ordinary life.
This is a very tiny sampling of some of the mind-blowing research pointing past the local-brain-only model of consciousness. None of it is what we are here to do, and once you start pulling the thread it is a rabbit hole, so consider yourself warned. These are serious programs with named investigators, university divisions, peer-reviewed papers, and blinded protocols. A skeptic can wave off any single study; the harder thing is the convergence across so many independent lines. Each link opens in a new tab.
Ky Dickens' documentary podcast on nonspeaking autistic people who appear to convey knowledge beyond ordinary sensory channels, featuring psychiatrist Dr. Diane Hennacy Powell. It topped the global charts and is fiercely debated.
The University of Virginia School of Medicine's Division of Perceptual Studies, founded by Dr. Ian Stevenson in 1967, has spent decades documenting young children whose specific statements, behaviors, and even birthmarks correspond to verifiable deceased people.
Vivid, lucid, life-transforming experiences reported during cardiac arrest and deep anesthesia, studied prospectively by clinicians like Pim van Lommel (The Lancet) and the multi-hospital AWARE study.
For over two decades the U.S. government funded remote-viewing research at SRI. Statistician Dr. Jessica Utts reviewed the work and concluded that, by the standards applied to other sciences, the effect had been established.
From 1979 to 2007 a Princeton engineering lab tested whether human intention can subtly shift random physical systems, building one of the central archives for mind-matter interaction research.
Dr. Dean Radin and colleagues at the Institute of Noetic Sciences ran six experiments testing whether focused attention correlates with changes in a double-slit optical interference pattern.
A meta-analysis by Dr. Julia Mossbridge, Patrizio Tressoldi and Dr. Jessica Utts found the body appears to respond to emotional stimuli a few seconds before they are randomly selected, an "unexplained anticipatory effect."
Dr. Rupert Sheldrake and Pamela Smart ran more than 100 videotaped, time-stamped experiments with a dog who appeared to anticipate exactly when his owner set off for home.
Since 1998, Dr. Roger Nelson's project has run a worldwide network of random-number generators, reporting small but persistent departures from chance around moments of shared human attention, such as 9/11 and New Year's Eve.
Dr. Rollin McCraty and colleagues study heart-rate-variability coherence, the measurable, orderly rhythm the heart settles into during positive emotion, and its links to focus, resilience, and states of calm connection.
IONS keeps a hub of peer-reviewed psi research, from intention-treated water and mediumship to telepathy and precognition. The best single doorway into the whole rabbit hole.
TiQi Leadership regards the foundation of everything as energy, and at that foundation, the frequency of love. That is where we begin.
The One Truth is LOVE.
TiQi leaders know that love is foundational. The frequency of love is the One Truth. We refer to this as the Foundation Rule.
This lucid Conscious Awareness is only ever loving and playful. It does not punish, it does not teach you lessons, and it does not bring you something terrible because you happened to think about something terrible. It is only love: compelling, warm and vast.
At the foundation of everything is Conscious Awareness, and within it, the frequency of love. Our Universe exists in Conscious Awareness, and matter arises inside it.
Our who-ness is made of form, however our what-ness, our true essence, is formless. Form comes from the formless.
Every feature of the biological spacesuit carries helpful intent. But sometimes the outcome is not so helpful, which is why we call it helpful / "helpful." What is not aligned with love can obscure our connection to the Zone, and the answer is always love.
The frequency of Love is only ever perfect, and the One Truth is love. But when the formless begets the form, sometimes things get bonked around, dinked, and parts take on imprints other than love. The biological spacesuit can pick up some dings and dents. Physics in the classical sense is where the bonks and bruises happen, but the nature of the One Truth is quantum and perfect: only ever loving and vast.
The 3-Fold Mission
The Foundation Rule is simple: the One Truth is love. TiQi leaders and Higher Mind Leaders extend that one truth into a 3-Fold Mission, an in-the-now, this-IS-happening statement of purpose that also sets our vision, the future state we are creating. The mission is threefold:
The 5 Guiding Principles
Recommendations that guide us in any context. We phrase these guiding principles in the now, to show they are already happening. Following one begins as a deliberate effort and, over time, becomes a natural way of being.
The 5 Tools
These are the tools for TiQi leaders, for ourselves and for those we lead.
When we combine the tools above with the trauma-informed lens, we show up with X-ray vision, the kind that helps us live our three-fold mission: to amplify love, to call back to love that which has become unaligned, and to be a steward, guardian, and protector of love.
Trauma and other experiences can lead to role shifts for our internal cast of characters. We call this picking up a shield. Watch and share the slideshow below to explore role shifts.
Setting the record straight
Some of these are 100% incorrect. Others are misleading, capturing only part of the picture. Here is what is really going on, held with love for the biological spacesuit and every one of our parts.

A Map
Most teams start stuck. The American Institute of Stress reports that 83% of US workers experience work-related stress, and a large share are living in a chronic YELLOW. That is your team.
This is one example of how a leader can guide a team from ever-stressed survival toward a thriving, connected baseline, using play, awe, and movement to shift state along the way. Treat the resources as ideas to look up and make your own.
Read it forwards, then read it backwards.
The TiQi Way
The biological spacesuit, and all of our parts, are only ever trying to be helpful.
And there is a part that’s not a part, which we regard as the Quantum Self (always perfect). Some like to picture it as an inner light, or as the Lucid energy that is the core what-ness of what they are.
There is nothing wrong with you, and nothing to fix. These are the agreements we keep, with ourselves, our parts, and our people.
